It started with a brilliant programs team, dedicated to service. To best engage FFA membership, they wanted grass roots, interactive convention spaces that engaged attendees—student, advisor, and supporter alike. National FFA leadership wanted that effort to be professional and on brand. With massive booth spaces, together we created obstacle courses, zombie apocalypses, races to solve hunger, and many more, each year evolving and refining opportunities. Engagement and participation soared, far outweighing any other convention booth year after year. Even sponsors worked to emulate the efforts.

The idea evolved into an annual National Convention service project. And it quickly gained steam, making National FFA's Living to Serve program booth the most popular booth at National Convention, with the longest visit length and highest engagement rate.

On the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic, we took the idea to new virtual heights with online toolkits, interactive social media presence, and virtual project guides. Toolkits offered print-ready materials, customizable press templates, yard signs, and interactive files for customizable social media post graphics—ensuring chapters could affordably and easily execute service projects and promote those efforts through branded communications despite the financial feasibility of attending National Convention.
